Forget the dreary days of winter; why not think in color. Get an early start to spring and freshen up with a new paint color, floral arrangement, or accessory items.Add a splash of color or floral print to make your room ready for spring. Bold color accents will make your room pop. However, if going bold is too big of a leap, accessorize with classic pastels for a chic look.
To give your home the final touches of spring, add in some flowers to brighten your room and your day!

2014 is going to be a magnificent year for details in the Interior design world. Recently I discussed the rise in popularity of various trims, and now I want to share about the increasing appeal of embroidered fabrics. These fabrics are very affordable, and they can add much interest and character to any space.
Refreshing embroidered pillows from Surya add so much excitement to any design. With their amazing selection of patterns and colors, they are the perfect source for your embroidered accents.
All forms of embroidered patterns are available from bold geometrics to simply sweeet florals. Embroidered fabrics are applied to everything from pillows and drapes, to chairs and bedding. These designs can also feature threads that offer a nice sheen to them for an extra pop of drama when the lighting hits them just right.
The image below shows a pretty floral print called Meadowood from the Aerin Lauder(grandaughter of Estee Lauder) Collection at Lee Jofa. Strong enough for upholstery and drapery as shown.
Here is a sneak peek of a French inspired guest bedroom that I have in the works at DLP Interiors. The image features a gorgeous linen embroidered fabric from Kravet Fabrics that I used to make custom panels with pinched pleats. The fabric filters the light so beautifully, and creates a soft and airy feel to the space.
Here are some more embroidered fabrics from Kravet Fabrics that would add the perfect amount of texture and whimsy to any space.
I hope this post inspired you today, and don’t be afraid to mix and match different embroidered prints to achieve a rich layered effect!
